Hillslope projects - Who is responsible?

Penang’s Tanjung Bunga Residents’ ociation (TBRA) have been lobbying against dangerous hillslopes development in the area as far back as 2006.

After several peaceful gatherings to get their voices heard, TBRA together with Chee Seng Garden Action Committe Against Hillslope Developments, submitted a petition with 1,558 signatures to halt property development on hillslopes to the State executive council.

They handed the petition to State Exco, Phee Boon Poh at the State embly on April 27.

    Maybe not so easy, the projects has be approved by previous government and the developer will not stay idle.
    The law is not in favour of the state government if they decide to act against them.
